Partnering with technology leaders for more sustainable packaging

Amcor is looking to invest and build partnerships with start-ups to jointly develop innovative, disruptive and more sustainable packaging solutions. We work with both early-stage start-ups (via our Amcor Lift-Off programs) and later-stage scale-ups.

Our goal is to pair Amcor’s strong industry leadership with the dedicated work and agility of start-ups to identify new packaging products, processes and business models. With these partnerships, we aim to address our customers’ needs early and launch solutions with a higher speed to market.

Our ticket size starts from USD 250,000 and increases depending on the company size and maturity, reaching a maximum of USD 5,000,000.

Focus areas

More sustainable materials and circular economy applications

We are looking to partner with start-ups developing new more sustainable materials or applications which allow for a more circular economy.

For example, amongst others:

Recycling systems
More sustainable barrier technologies with high oxygen and moisture barriers
Paper-based solutions
Biomaterials

New business opportunities

We are looking to partner with start-ups developing technologies or new business models which allow for innovations within the current packaging business.

For example, amongst others:

Smart packaging and innovative ways to connect to clients (B2B) and end-consumers (B2C)
New printing, processing and sealing technologies
Automation and digitalisation of manufacturing
Business model innovations such as re-usable systems

Amcor Lift-Off

Dedicated to early-stage startups, we organize two special programs under the umbrella of "Amcor Lift-Off" to deepen our focus on collaborating with young companies.

Innovative companies in all our focus areas are invited to pitch their ideas to a team of senior Amcor leaders. Successful applicants have the chance to win funding and a joint R&D agreement through Amcor Lift-Off Sprints, or a potential pilot and strategic partnership through Amcor Lift-Off Connect.
